Privacy
Short version: your screenshots stay on your device. There are no accounts and no server copy.
What is stored, and where
Screenshots you add, their thumbnails, titles, tags, notes, collections and any extracted text are saved in your browser’s IndexedDB storage for screenvault.dev, on this device only. ScreenVault has no database and no file storage on its servers. Other browsers, devices and people cannot see your vault.
The single-purpose tools (PDF, compress, stitch, annotate, beautify, compare, EXIF) process images in the page and keep nothing unless you press “Save to vault”.
When an image leaves your device
Only when you press a “Read text” / “Extract text” button. Then a downscaled JPEG copy of that one image is sent to our server function, which passes it to an AI model (OpenAI GPT-6 Luna) through Vercel AI Gateway and streams the text back. ScreenVault does not store the image or the text on the server. Vercel and the model provider process the request under their own terms; don’t send screenshots containing secrets you wouldn’t paste into an AI tool.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless and does not see your screenshots or anything you type into the tools.
Delete everything
Use the button below, the “Clear everything” link in the vault sidebar, or clear site data for screenvault.dev in your browser settings.
