Stitch screenshots

Join screenshots into one image: stack scrolling captures into a single long page, or set before/after shots side by side. Duplicate overlap between scrolls is detected and trimmed.

Getting a clean long screenshot

Many browsers can already capture a full page: Firefox has “Take Screenshot → Save full page”, and Chrome/Edge DevTools have “Capture full size screenshot” in the command menu (Ctrl/⌘+Shift+P). Stitching is for everything else: chat threads in desktop apps, pages with sticky headers that repeat in a full-page capture, and phone screens.

  • Scroll by less than a screen each time so consecutive captures overlap by a few lines; the overlap detector needs that shared strip.
  • Hide or wait out anything animated (carousels, blinking cursors) or the overlap won’t match.
  • A sticky header appears in every piece. Crop it off all but the first with the crop tool before stitching.

Questions

How do I stitch screenshots together?

Drop two or more screenshots, set the order, choose vertical (top to bottom) or horizontal (side by side), and download. For a long page captured in parts, choose vertical and “same width” so the pieces line up.

Can it remove the overlap between scrolling screenshots?

Yes. Turn on “Remove overlap” in vertical mode. It compares the bottom of each image with the top of the next, finds the rows that match, and trims the duplicate strip. It works best when the pieces overlap by at least 40 pixels and nothing animates between captures.

Is there a size limit?

Browsers cap canvas size: Safari at about 16.7 million pixels in total, Chrome and Firefox at 32,767 pixels on a side. Very tall stitches are scaled down to fit, and you will see a note when that happens.

Are my images uploaded?

No, stitching happens on a canvas in your browser.
